Blue Square Energy Receives $13 Million Purchase Order

Solar Cell Maker to Ship 300 mm and 200 mm Silicon Cells

North East, MD (April 11, 2005) – Blue Square Energy (BSE), a developer and manufacturer of high-performance silicon solar cells, today announced it has received a $13 million dollar purchase order for its solar cells.  The company is expected to begin fulfilling the order from its Maryland manufacturing facility within 30 days.

BSE silicon solar cells are currently available in two sizes: 300 mm and 200 mm. The company’s 300 mm solar cell is the largest and most powerful silicon cell available in the market today.  BSE’s solar cells will be used in a variety of household appliances, including garden and accent lights.

“This is a validating moment for Blue Square Energy, for our solar cells and for our place in the solar market,” said Jeffrey Barnett, president and CEO of BSE.  “Clearly, there is a demand for our high-performance solar cells, and we are excited to meet it.  Our manufacturing line is more than prepared to quickly fill this order, and we are actively taking on more orders at this time.”

BSE’s manufacturing line recycles used silicon into solar cells.  BSE cells and modules can be purchased directly from the company or through certified partners.
